In this spinoff from "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," Downtown Leroy Brown tries to fulfill his father's dying wish by transforming a dilapidated house into a retirement home: Brown Meadows, which happens to be located next door to a rowdy fraternity house. Helping Leroy keep the facility's quirky residents in line are his daughter, Cora; his nephew, Will, a doctor, and Will's wife, Sasha, a nurse; social worker Carmen Martinez; and Jesus Hernandez, a maintenance engineer who is studying to be a lawyer.

Seasons
Season 1
Brown feels like he did a good job fixing up the house without having any help and without spending any money. But once the house starts falling apart, he realizes he needs some help. Cora lets Brown know that she put up flyers around the church in search of help for the home. Brown agrees to interview some people. After several failed interviews, he hires Jesus as his janitor, who only speaks a little English. Instead of fixing the things that Brown gives him to do, he fixes things that aren’t broken. Brown soon gives up hope that the house will be in any condition to open for business, but with everyone’s help, they get the house in order.
Season 2
Will and Sasha do all they can to keep Brianna and Joaquin from being adopted. Elsewhere, Brown tries to uncover evidence that the neighborhood's frat boys are growing their own marijuana.
Season 3
Will takes secret Salsa-dancing lessons so he can take Sasha to a party, but Sasha thinks he's cheating on her. The Colonel and Edna decide to move in together, down the street from Brown Meadows.
Season 4
The Colonel suffers a heart attack at the altar. Reggie asks a reluctant Cora to marry him.
Season 5
Colonel and Edna finally get ready for their wedding, and they seek help from the Brown family. Elsewhere, Renee does a good deed for Sasha, but she expects something in return.
