Seasons
Season 1
Danish crime thriller series set in the world of economic crime.
Season 2
Mads and Alf at the fraud squad have not forgotten the crimes committed by Energreen and are still looking for a chance to arrest the CEO, Sander, who is missing. When a desperate man complains that his small carpentry business was forced into bankruptcy, the fraud squad delve into the practices of a major bank and uncover more than they expected. Claudia, a young lawyer, paid dearly for her involvement in Energreen. After serving 18 months in prison she's finally released - but to what? Ex-convict-turned-mechanic Nicky and his hapless friend Bimse now run their own garage, but Nicky has also been taken under the wing of the Swedish fixer, which comes at a high price.
Season 3
Two years have passed since we last saw Nicky and Alf, which we follow into the third season against the organized hash crime money cycle. PTSD-affected Alf has got a new job in the police's expert group; Task Force Nørrebro, while Nicky has gone from being P's handrail to being in the industry as big smugglers. He also runs a functional laundering machine through a juice bar and dreams of a large house on the Spanish coastline. Alf dreams of his colleague Isa, but life rarely goes as planned. Nicky gets a folder with some information that reveals an unpleasant truth about his son, and Alf must keep secret his relationship with Isa as he is to lead a case of a mysterious find in a basement.
User Reviews
I watched the first two series, but I do not plan to watch the third. It is entertaining enough, with good enough acting (which means expressions and body language since I depend on the subtitles) and intelligent scripts. And at least Mads, the lead cop, is not totally stereotypical. He is your standard aggressive, not quite play by the rules cop, who rushes around getting into trouble with his superiors by his impetuous moves. But even though he is driven and lets the case consume him, he is an often gentle and caring husband and father. So he doesn't fall into that easy cliche of a cop who destroys his marriage and family. And his partner on the Fraud squad has depth as a character.
There are plenty of side plots during both series that I won't go into in any detail. Discover them for yourself. I will say that both series followed the same pattern, where the bad guys always seem to be one step ahead, like super villains, leaving the cops scrambling behind them, weakened by having to follow the rules of evidence and police policy. So I have decided not to find out if the third series follows the same pattern, plus it looks like there is only one character brought forward from series one and two. I had gotten used to the cast. So I wouldn't discourage anyone from watching this program just because my interest has waned.
