Trading Spaces was an hour-long American television reality program that aired from 2000 to 2008 on the cable channels TLC and Discovery Home. The format of the show was based on the BBC TV series Changing Rooms. The show ran for eight seasons.

Season 1
Christi is going to be working with the dark blue team, Scott & Tammy, while Laurie will be working with the red team, Bishop (aka Smitty) & Angela. Homeowner Chats The Blue team wants rich, warm colors. They have a dresser/ armoire with their TV on top of it. The Green team calls their room a blank canvas, but they don't want dark colors on the walls. Key Swap The same as the previous key swaps in Home Free, Paige goes over the rules, hands out the $2000, & hands over the keys. Designer/ Homeowner Chat Smitty & Angela want to get some seating in the room. Scott & Tammy want an entertainment cabinet & to get rid of the ""1920"" furniture. Paint Challenge Paige has 2 paint cans, one for each house. Both have 20 paint chips in them & whichever one they choose has to go on all the walls. The Red team get a moss green, Laurie doesn't seem to like it. The Blue team get a shade of blue that is very near to the same shade as their shirts. Budgeting & Shopping The Red

Doug Wilson goes ""ballistic"" while taking an ordinary living room back to the 1970s. Across the street, Hilda Santo-Tomas maps out a plan to modernize a basement playroom. They both get some help from carpenter Ty Pennington, who's building a couch and some benches to accent the designs. Will these two small-town couples like their new contemporary rooms? We'll see!

It's swinging singles time on Trading Spaces! Designer Laurie Hickson-Smith works with single-guy Ed to redo his neighbor's master bedroom. Meantime, single gal Laurie fixes up Ed's master bedroom with the design help of Frank Bielec. Ty Pennington works in both rooms, making a big armoire for Laurie and a manly dresser for Frank. Swing on over for the fun!

Flirting and Fighting is the theme of this episode of Trading Spaces when four single ladies put on the Minnesota charm! Designer Genevieve Gorder is happy to return to her hometown and inspires her team to revamp a barren living room into a botanical retreat. While Amy Wynn Pastor crafts some awesome TV cabinets, designer Doug Wilson charms his team into transforming a bland living room into a serene oasis. Will the ladies be swept off their feet? We won't kiss and tell, tune in and see it for yourself.

Trading Spaces kicks off a brand-new season in suburban Philadelphia, Pa. Preston and his wife, Rachelle, are trading with their neighbors B.J. and Sue. Preston will put in some extra-long days because he has to get up at 3 a.m. to go work on his morning radio show. And because he couldn't take time off, he's doing his show live from his neighbor's house. Speaking of 3 a.m., that's when neighbor B.J. starts work on her overnight job that her boss wouldn't let her out of, and so for part of the time, Sue has to carry the weight of redecorating without her teammate. In spite of being shorthanded, designer Hildi Santo Tomás manages to pull off a kitchen redo that is pretty radical. Imagine that from Hildi! Next door in Laurie Smith's family room, carpenter Carter Oosterhouse is faced with a daunting list of projects.
