Alex vs America

Three talented shellfish experts from across the United States challenge Alex Guarnaschelli in two intense rounds of cooking. Hailing from Louisiana, Maine, and Hawaii, these chefs are betting their skills with shellfish can give them a chance at beating the fearsome Chef Alex. In round 1 the chefs seal their fate by choosing the ingredients they and Alex will cook with. Will their choices give them an advantage in the first round, or will Alex blow them all out of the water? One chef will be eliminated before going into round two, where they have the chance to win up to $15k, but only if they can defeat Chef Alex.

A trio of regional Italian cuisine experts unite to challenge Alex Guarnaschelli. They devise a plan in round one, then in round two, one expert faces off against Alex in her kitchen, judged by Antonia Lofaso and Evan Funke.
