Women will never understand, why face is a matter of life and death to men. They say that life is difficult and that it is particularly difficult if you are a woman. But the 50-year-old HONG TIN-YAM (LAU CHUNG YAN, DAMIAN) finds it equally hard to be a man. YAM was widowed at an early age and was once a single father. Tin Yam is a professional engineer. His wife died when their son, Sai Hei, was eight years old. He then married Tak Kiu, who is a teacher. Yam thought he found a good mother for Hei but then he later realised that he had shouldered onto himself the responsibility of taking care of Kiu’s family! Time flew and ten years have now passed. Yam organises a birthday banquet for his father-in-law, Kai Cheong. He asks his colleagues to attend the dinner and Hei invites a sexy showgirl to join and add fun to the event. However, Kiu’s sister, Tak Lan, mistakenly thinks they are having an affair. Yam’s new boss, Chung, is the son of the big boss. He wants Yam to privately take on old building renovation jobs. Kiu is worried that she will be laid off as she scores low on her language aptitude test. She is in a bad mood and thinks that Yam no longer loves her.
